PINELLAS VETERANS VILLAGES
CDF is focused on reducing the number of homeless veterans in Pinellas County. We recognize that every veteran manages their life path differently and may decide the resident program at CCV would not work for them. The Pinellas Veterans Villages will give homeless and transitioning single veterans a reduced rent option and an independent living environment.

A similar, successful program was implemented by YMCA CEO Timothy Pain to offer affordable housing to individuals moving out of their transitional program. The program sets up shipping containers that function as studio apartments equipped with a shower, toilet, sink, bed, fridge, cooking area, microwave, TV, heating and clothing storage. To setup a 20-foot by 8-foot (160 square feet) shipping container home the cost has been estimated to be in the range of $10,000 to $30,000. On-going costs of these homes could easily be offset by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs Home Providers Grant and Per Diem Program.
